Grizzlie Bears generally have cubs every three years unless food is scarce.

grizzlie bears see the same as humans

grizlie bears smell 75 times better than a human.

estimted 1000 griziles in lower 48 states.

est 280 to 610 grizzlie bears in yelowstone in 1996

grizlie bears sometimes keep their cubs into the third year and still nurse them!

grizzlies will kill you to protect a kill. sometimes tehy will lay right on top of it. often they will cover it in dirt and it looks like a big mound. if you see a fresh mound of dirt dont go over there. the grizluie willkill you if they see you and they typically stay just a bit off to watch the food.

if a gizlie bear walks toward you drop a hat. eep your pack on always. it could help to protect you . if any bear walks toward you with still legs they will usually charge you. it could be a bluff charge where they run a few steps at full speed and then stop short of you. they are showing thier dominace and moving you off. if a grizlie "woolfs" at yopu an attack is generaly imanant

black bears have poorer site than a human.

Bears!

Bear Facts:

“Bears are not companions of men, but children of God, and His charity is broad enough
for both. We seek to establish a narrow line between ourselves and the feathery zeros
we dare to call angels, but ask a partition barrier of infinite width to show the rest
of creation its proper place. Yet bears are made of the same dust as we, and breathe the
same winds and drink of the same waters. A bear's days are warmed by the same sun, his
dwellings are overdomed by the same blue sky, and his life turns and ebbs with
heart-pulsings like ours and was poured from the same fountain....."

John Muir

And while we feel the dominant player, take down the fences, remove the barriers and and toss us into close proximity to a bear, it is only the grace of God and of the bear that allows man to walk away. All the brains and brawn a man can muster are stripped in the presence of a bear when you are alone.
